Smartling, the cloud-based enterprise translation management company, today announced translation support for a full range of business documents, creating the first full-service, integrated platform for translating and localizing online and offline content. The documents feature debuts today at GALA 2013 Miami Beach, a conference organized by the world’s largest association for the language industry, Globalization and Localization Association (GALA).
The new document translation capability is fully integrated into the Smartling Translation Management System (TMS), an automated, collaborative workflow that manages all types of digital content, from websites and mobile apps to documents and brochures. Customers can drag and drop business documents into the Smartling TMS, which will automatically parse the document content, leverage existing translation memory assets, and enable collaborative, in-context translation.
“Translating the myriad of digital content formats for the web, mobile applications and business documents can get unwieldy,“ said Jack Welde, CEO, Smartling. “While other software tools handle pieces of the puzzle, we’ve put it all together into one streamlined platform, where everyone involved in the process can collaborate for faster and higher-quality results.”
Key features and benefits:
“By adding document translation to their platform, Smartling allows their users to process all digital content, from localization of software files to marketing literature, in the same interface rather than investing in multiple tools,“ according to market research firm Common Sense Advisory Inc. “Smartling’s emphasis on connectivity to other management systems positions it well for the role as the hub in the enterprise content universe.”
The Smartling Translation Management System (TMS) is the first platform built to manage the entire translation, localization and delivery process in the cloud. The platform matches the agile pace of business today, rendering the traditional costly, slow and tedious translation model obsolete. Putting the process in the cloud, Smartling automates workflows, improves the quality of translations by providing context and visibility, and speeds deployment exponentially — while meeting the quality requirements of the largest global companies and the hottest consumer web and mobile companies.
